Building on last year's excitement of National Observe the Moon Night following the LCROSS impact on the lunar surface for the search for water,
Astronomers Without Borders is holding the international event called
International Observe the Moon Night on September 18, 2010. The idea is to share the excitement of lunar exploration. Since that is also an objective of the Moon Society here in India, we thought we should also participate in the event.
Here are some of the things that you can do:
- Hold a public star party and give others a close-up look at our closest celestial neighbor
- Hold a public lecture or give a public presentation
- Contact a school near you and give a special presentation to classes
- Hold an online events like a Tweetup
The Moon Society would like to help you by updating you on the latest happenings in the Indian Lunar mission - Chandrayaan and generally about plans of the exploration of the Moon. If you are participating, do let us know using the contact information on the sidebar.
